Let Heaven Go is part of a series of works in Anna’s ‘Gathering Project’ which are created using found environmental objects attempt to capture something of those rare moments when one is in nature and feels completely at harmony with it. Moments when, as the artist puts it “We feel the sun on our skins just as trees surely feel it on their bark.”
Anna found inspiration for the project from one of her annual autumnal walks. While collecting acorns or beech nut casings under the trees her mind went drew a ink between the tiny objects she was collecting, and us humans - each so alike and yet unique. That nature produces so many of these tiny objects from just one tree, temporary, beautiful, mutable. We are no different in many ways to an acorn cup. This connection, once felt, might lead us to a greater sense of humility.
