Alan Gardener is best known for his award-winning garden design projects and show gardens at the country's most prestigious events. Having been awarded numerous medals Alan has turned his attention to landform art in the mould of Andy Goldsworthy or Charles Jencks.
Using earth, grasses and water as his paints Alan weaves subtle and elegant natural installations, site specific and unique to each. His work is simple and timeless, containing motion, grace and the 4th dimension of art - time. The works change over the passing seasons, using the movement of the sun and the shadows it creates as part of the piece. His style is as distinctive as his artform, tattoos and electric hair belies a love of the traditional, his materials are as old as the countryside but his contemporary re-imaginings breathe new life into them. Alan is available for projects internationally.
